The 1.8 gigapixel ARGUS-ISA surveillance camera offers the highest possible resolution of this moment. The instrument was developed by the U.S. Army and can be compared to a collection of 368 cameras (5 megapixels) from cell phones chained together. We talk about film and so the Argus produces 600 gigabits per second. How this signal is transmitted to the base on Earth remains secret. The camera will be mounted on unmanned drones that will fly on an altitude of 6 kilometers. So it monitors an area of 5 x 5 km and stores all data.
