Look what a wonderful way to visualize a workshop for Surfboards. We hear a relaxed interview and see many fragmented impressions of the action, and so the atmosphere of the handicraft is shaped. Remarkable what a tantalizing edit. The whole film is completely without music, because we hear all those wonderful sounds of sanders, planing, cutting, drawing, gluing and polishing. So in 2.5 minutes we have a complete picture of the man’s craft. The end product – a surfboard – is only a split second in view, but who cares? This is a fine, nowadays example of a film about the passion of a profession. That’s what the producer understood very well.
