Chris Burden (born 1946) is an American sculptor who makes installations and performances. The film is about his Metropolis II installation, a model of an imaginary city with continuous traffic. It took Burden four years to build it. Film-makers got the chance to record the construction during the last days in the Studio, before the installation was moved to the Los Angeles Country Museum of Art (LACMA). This kinetic sculpture was opened in 2011. The video was directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman. The music is composed by Tortoise and Mahogany. This video received over 500,000 online viewers.
